Beginner’s Guide to the FIM SuperEnduro World Championship

The FIM SuperEnduro World Championship is one of the most thrilling series in off-road motorcycle racing. Since its launch in 2007, it has become a global spectacle that pushes riders to their limits through extreme tracks and intense competition. Here’s everything beginners need to know about this action-packed sport.

What is SuperEnduro?

SuperEnduro combines speed, skill, and endurance. Riders face short but extremely technical indoor tracks packed with obstacles like logs, rocks, and tires—designed to test every aspect of their ability.

Season Overview

  • When: November/December to March
  • Where: Arenas around the world
  • Track Length: 250–300 meters
  • Lap Time: 45–60 seconds
  • Event Duration: Around 3 hours

Race Categories

  • Prestige Class: The elite category for riders aged 18+.
  • Junior Class: For young talents aged 16–23.
  • European Cup: A special class for European competitors.

How the Racing Works

Each event includes:

  • 8 races per event
  • Race duration: 6 minutes + 1 lap
  • 14 riders per race, split into two rows

Main Event Format

Each round features three final races for both Prestige and Junior classes. One key twist: the second final uses a reverse starting grid, meaning top riders from the first race start at the back—making for exciting comebacks and plenty of overtaking action.
